SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE, THE ECOLOGICAL OPTION TO BUILD YOUR HOME

When building a home, countless factors must be taken into account, among which we find some that for many decades have been relegated to the background for certain reasons. But day, the awareness about ecology produced above all by climate change and the effects that it is having on our planet has generated in the architectural world a trend that gains new followers every day: sustainable architecture.

We can say that a construction is sustainable when its realization has taken into account the impact that throughout its life cycle (construction, use and subsequent management of the waste generated in the demolition) the building will have on its surroundings, maintain respecting and preserving the environment by choosing solutions that have a lower impact, are economically viable and benefit the health of its users, without neglecting comfort, functionality and aesthetics.

To know the importance that sustainable architecture has and will have in our lives, we must be aware that currently the buildings in which we live have a great influence on global warming, being responsible for a third of CO2 emissions and 40% of the energy consumption. This is because we live in houses that are not very energy efficient due to the aging of the urban park.

At Pepe Cabrera we love to do our bit in making this world a more sustainable place without forgetting the comfort of our clients, that is why we also carry out projects in which we use and put into practice the postulates of sustainable architecture optimizing the design of buildings and taking care of aspects such as materials (use of 0 km resources for less energy expenditure in transport, giving priority to reuse and recycling, taking advantage of the existing building structure, ...), energy efficiency (installation of more efficient renewable energies, reducing the consumption of fossil fuels and improving insulation), water (reduction of water consumption through the use of consumption reduction systems - double pushbutton in the toilet, flow reducers in the taps, ... - and reuse of rainwater for irrigation or to fill toilet cisterns, ...) and waste (carry out optimal management in a work that allows recycling waste materials).

We are responsible for our future, that is why we must use and seek more sustainable habitability formulas that provide energy efficiency without losing style and comfort. If you are interested in living in a sustainable home, consult with the experts at Pepe Cabrera, we will be delighted to participate in such an important project for our environment.
